Job summary

Morningstar Credit Ratings, LLC seeks an Analyst for US manager research on fixed income in Chicago. The role focuses on high-quality strategy-level analysis and broader asset-class research, including mentoring newer analysts.

Based in our Chicago office, in-office four days per week. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree with 2–4 years in manager research, fixed income expertise, strong communication skills, and proficiency in programming languages (Python/R/MATLAB) a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, CFP or other advanced degree a plus.
• Two to four years of experience in manager research or related role.
• Fixed income subject matter expertise is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability in strategy-level analysis and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a collaborative team culture delivering high-quality fixed income research and analyses for investors.
• Pursue general fixed income knowledge while developing specialization in bond sectors.
• Engage with external market participants to understand Morningstar capabilities.
• Contribute to thought leadership and develop analytical tools.
• Mentor and train new analysts.
