What you will do

  • Serve as the primary Field Medical Excellence capabilities partner for US Field Medical leadership, helping translate strategic priorities and evolving business needs into scalable capabilities, processes, tools, and solutions.
  • Build strong partnerships across US therapeutic areas to understand field needs, identify common opportunities and challenges, and enable appropriate consistency in Field Medical practices while recognizing legitimate therapeutic-area differences.
  • Lead and support the evolution of Field Medical engagement processes and ways of working, including stakeholder profiling, engagement planning, preparation, scientific exchange, documentation, follow-up, and insight generation.
  • Partner with Field Medical leaders, Knowledge & Learning, and other capability partners to identify emerging development needs and strengthen the capabilities required for effective external scientific engagement.
  • Lead US implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of Field Medical technology and AI-enabled solutions, ensuring that new capabilities solve meaningful field needs and are integrated effectively into Field Medical workflows.
  • Partner with Medical Data & Analytics and US Field Medical leadership to evolve measures of Field Medical performance and impact, with an emphasis on meaningful indicators of engagement quality, capability, adoption, and contribution to Medical objectives.
  • Use field feedback, data, adoption measures, and other evidence to assess whether Field Medical solutions are delivering intended value and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate cross-therapeutic-area forums, working sessions, pilots, and communities of practice that enable Field Medical colleagues and leaders to share experience, identify leading practices, and solve common challenges.
  • Monitor emerging trends in Field Medical, Medical Affairs, scientific engagement, technology, AI, healthcare, and external stakeholder expectations and translate relevant developments into implications for US Field Medical strategy and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with regional and global Field Medical Excellence colleagues to share US learnings, leverage practices developed in other markets, and contribute to globally scalable Field Medical solutions.
  • Ensure Field Medical Excellence initiatives are designed and executed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and Medical governance expectations.
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects and workstreams, including management of priorities, timelines, dependencies, risks, vendors, and associated budgets as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Medical Affairs, Field Medical, or other relevant experience
  • OR
  • Master’s degree and 4 years of Medical Affairs, Field Medical, or other relevant experience
  • OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Medical Affairs, Field Medical, or other relevant experience
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree and 10 years of Medical Affairs, Field Medical, or other relevant experience
  • OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Medical Affairs, Field Medical, or other relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience within Scientific or Medical Affairs in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Field Medical experience with a strong understanding of Field Medical strategy, external scientific engagement, field workflows, and the operating environment of MSLs and Field Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and business needs into practical processes, capabilities, technology solutions, or ways of working.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Medical, technology, data and analytics, learning, operations, and other enterprise partners.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive-influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Field Medical colleagues, people leaders, senior leadership, technical teams, and other cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously while balancing near‑term execution with longer‑term capability strategy.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
