Job summary

Merck seeks a Specialist - US Controllers to ensure the financial integrity of our US entities and support the consolidated statements. This role collaborates across functions to maintain a well-controlled close process, focusing on journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis for the US Animal Health business.

The successful candidate will gain deep knowledge of US operations, participate in special projects, and assist audits. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/BA in Accounting and strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and reconciliations in a multi-entity environment.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle various accounting functions for the US market with preparation of journal entries and related analysis in support of the business.
• Prepare account reconciliations
• Apply knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles across a broad range of transactions and business situations, e.g. revenue and deferrals, cash transactions, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, accruals, and inventory
• Assist with the development and coordination of master data for US entity creation and support financial close for new acquisitions until full integration.
• Respond to audit inquiries and testing for internal and external audits.
• Develop business knowledge of US operations
• Lead or participate in special projects or process improvements
