Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. Apple’s Sales organization generates the revenue needed to fuel our ongoing development of products and services. This in turn, enriches the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our sales team, is in many ways, the face of Apple to our largest customers.

Do you love solving problems and have an uncanny knack for analytics? In this role, you will lead consumer insights and competitive intelligence for US Sales — analyzing economic, consumer, and competitor trends to identify and evaluate growth opportunities, and arming sales leadership with the market intelligence needed to win. You will work very closely with market intelligence vendors and reseller account teams to identify key customer segment opportunities, feeding into business development and strategic account teams, translating your findings into clear recommendations and, where needed, executive-ready narratives that help leadership act on what you uncover.

Description
  • Own the end-customer insights and competitive intelligence function for US spanning from smartphone to computing and wearables categories — delivering high quality customer segment analysis, competitive market research, and sales recommendations across Consumer, Carrier and Business channels.
  • Track and interpret competitor moves, product launches, pricing actions and specs shifts; be the single point of contact for competitive intelligence tied to new product introductions and campaigns, translating signals into actionable insights for reseller account teams as well as sales and product marketing leadership.
  • Develop and assess consumer trends and shopper dynamics, segment the market and highlight opportunities and risks within current year and beyond. Make recommendations that could unlock opportunities or mitigate risks; ensure regular reporting is dependable, accurate, and high quality.
  • Represent decisions and recommendations from your analysis to sales leadership and the broader product marketing function, fully integrated with business development teams and into longer term account planning activities. Stitch together key opportunities across routes-to-market, product lines and customer segments to articulate a cohesive story across the US market in a unified way.
  • Through a continuous improvement mindset, identify new analytical methodologies and visualization techniques to turn data into insight and action. Leverage your curiosity to innovate, automate and build AI tools to scale your thinking throughout the organization.
  • Translate consumer and competitive insights into clear, compelling narratives for executive communications — including briefings and partner-facing presentations — to ensure key findings inform the broader Apple story.
  • Create strategic visions to help focus and prioritize business development efforts - analyze trends and capabilities, identify and articulate opportunities, build a strategic vision, and partner with cross-functional teams to build each initiative from the ground up.
Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 7 years of related experience in roles spanning consumer/business intelligence, product marketing, product management, commercial management, market research, finance, strategic business planning, business development and/or strategy. Strong commercial/consumer insight experience in complex consumer electronics, carrier, retail, and/or commercial markets; familiarity with the competitive and product landscape. Deep understanding of consumer trends and market drivers across the value chain, and their potential business impact. Experience translating research or competitive analysis into executive communications, briefings, or leadership presentations is a plus. Strong analytical and business modeling skills in Excel and Tableau, and in-depth understanding of BI databases. Strong storytelling, writing, and presentation skills — able to translate analysis into clear communications. Ability to recognize business opportunities through data, develop actionable insights, convert insights to strategic recommendations, and present findings to key stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of related experience in roles spanning consumer/business intelligence, product marketing, product management, commercial management, market research, finance, strategic business planning, business development and/or strategy. Experience successfully managing C-level and senior-level relationships with internal and external partners is a plus. Curious, creative problem solver who can synthesize complexity into clear direction; calm and highly collaborative in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Passion for solving problems, ability to navigate ambiguity, and tenacity to provide recommendations that challenge the status quo. MBA degree is a plus.
