Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a US Congressional Lead to develop strategies and advance engagement with the U.S. Congress.

You will build relationships with lawmakers and staff across committees shaping technology policy, and support the team in hearings and briefings while coordinating with legal, policy and communications to align on OpenAI’s mission. The role requires substantial Capitol Hill experience, strong congressional relationships, and the ability to collaborate with civil society and industry

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of experience with the U.S. federal government, especially legislative branches.
• Strong bipartisan relationships and political judgment.
• Ability to navigate complex legislative and policy issues with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategies and advance OpenAI’s engagement with the U.S. Congress across priorities.
• Manage relationships with House and Senate lawmakers and staff.
• Support the Global Affairs team in hearings, briefings, and government engagements.
• Collaborate with civil society and industry partners in alignment with OpenAI’s mission.
