Job summary

Donaldson Company is seeking an Application Engineer to provide comprehensive sales and technical support for both original equipment and after-market products. You will analyze EPC or refinery specifications to size equipment, prepare quotations, and collaborate with sales teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in pressure vessels, piping, and related industries, plus familiarity with filtration and separation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of applied industry experience in pressure vessels, piping, and design/manufacture of pressure equipment.
• Experience in the marine and/or power generation industry.
• Familiarity with filtration and separation processes.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze EPC or refinery specifications to size and design equipment, determine material requirements, and develop and present detailed quotations.
• Interpret and apply industry standards (ASME, ISO, API, SAE, EI, etc.), customer specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates and maintain quote/project files.
• Collaborate with manufacturing vendors and use Salesforce for quotes, opportunities, and sales data.
• Provide technical support to distributors, engineering firms, and end-users; stay updated on Facet products and modify designs for new applications.
• Interface with production planning and drafting teams to deliver lead times and project schedules.
• Promote technical solutions to increase sales and margins.

The ideal candidate will design and propose technical equipment solutions that align with clients' technical requirements, international standards, and Facet's legacy of technical excellence, ensuring ideal user solutions. **Role Responsibilities:*** Analyze EPC or refinery specifications to size and design equipment, determine material requirements, and assess the cost implications and develop and present detailed quotations that highlight the value and competitive edge of Facet equipment.* Interpret and apply industry standards (ASME, ISO, API, SAE, EI, etc.), customer specifications, and project requirements.* Prepare accurate cost estimates and maintain a systematic approach to quote and project files.* Collaborate with manufacturing vendors to ensure precise cost details, utilize and maintain Salesforce for managing quotes, opportunities, and sales data in collaboration with the sales team.* Support Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, and Customer Service teams with technical expertise stay updated on all products within Facet's portfolio and modify existing designs for new applications.* Determine optimal equipment sizing based on customer applications and specifications.* Promote and suggest methods for increasing sales of Facet products to customers and distributors provide technical support to distributors, engineering firms, and end-users.* Interface with production planning and drafting teams to deliver accurate lead times and project schedules.* Ensure timely and professional responses to both internal and external stakeholders, maintain and improve margins for capital equipment sales by implementing innovative and cost-effective solutions explore new opportunities and contribute to Facet's growth by promoting technical solutions to enhance customer value. **Travel:** up to 50% **Minimum Qualifications**:* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field OR equivalent work experience* 5+ years of applied industry experience, with expertise in pressure vessels, piping, and the design/manufacture of pressure equipment.* Experience in the marine and/or power generation industry* Familiarity with filtration and separation processes **Preferred Qualifications**:* Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software.* Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes involving metals, piping, fittings, and materials.* Strong project management skills with a focus on multi-tasking and prioritization. **Immigration Sponsorship Not Available:**• Applicants for this position must be currently and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, J-1, F-1, CPT, OPT, etc.)• Donaldson will not offer immigration sponsorship or assume sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.• International relocation or remote work arrangements outside of the U.S. will not be considered.
