Job summary

A healthcare services company in Leesburg, VA is seeking a Urology Scrub / Surgical / Laser Technologist for full-time employment. The ideal candidate will perform various procedures in adherence to laser protocols and assist with ureteroscopy and laser procedures. Required qualifications include certification as a Scrub Tech or Surgical Technologist and a minimum of 1 year experience in an operating room. Responsibilities

• Perform procedures in accordance with all Laser protocols.
• Move and set up ureteroscopy/laser equipment in OR prior to procedure.
• Assist Urologist in performing ureteroscopy and laser procedures.
• Report to facility no later than 60 minutes prior to the start of the procedure.
• Submit complete and legible treatment/billing logs according to UMS’ HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Review and maintain inventory of supplies and cystoscopy equipment.
• Contact facilities to confirm schedule, number of patient procedures and start times.
• Maintain after‑hours contact at each facility for equipment failure or emergency.
• Contact the facility in case of potential cancellation and work with the Laser Supervisor to accommodate patient procedures.
• Build relationships with physician partners.
• Maintain Policies & Procedure Manuals, adding updates and reviewing each manual prior to any inspection.
• Maintain equipment and supplies to perform procedures efficiently and aesthetically.
• Prepare equipment for transport, including cleaning/disinfecting equipment and putting supplies away.
• Notify service engineer of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Wear company name badge at all times when on premises of a facility.

Qualifications

• Certified Scrub Tech, Certified Surgical Technologist, or similar background preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience working in an operating room setting.
• Prior OR experience and Urology experience preferred.
• Prior experience with Holmium Laser utilization for Urology procedures a plus.
• Knowledge of sterilization protocols considered a plus.
