Job summary

Tufts Medicine - Lowell General Hospital invites an experienced Urologist to join our faculty. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with strong hospital support and access to cutting-edge facilities.

The position supports an academic appointment with Tufts University School of Medicine, and will involve teaching activities and potential involvement in a urology residency program in Boston.

Qualifications

• Physician (MD or DO) or foreign equivalent and board certification in Urology to be fully licensed and credentialed as an attending physician at Tufts Medicine-Lowell General Hospital.
• Academic appointment through Tufts University School of Medicine with teaching activities available; urology residency starting and rotation through Boston.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and operative urology care as part of a large, diverse team.
• Perform office cystoscopies, TRUS biopsies, vasectomies and in-house ultrasounds.
• Share call coverage with the group; four- or five-day work week as preferred.
• Collaborate with Interventional Radiology, Nephrology and Oncology to deliver patient-centered care.

Tufts Medicine -Lowell General Hospital and Merrimack Urology Associates are seeking a Urologist to join our faculty.

Our practice offers a collegial work group with incredible in-office and hospital-based support for our physicians including:

• A four- or five-day work week, based on your preference

• 1:1 administrative support in office, in addition to three nurses for immediate triage needs, allowing our Physicians tooperateat the top of their licenses focusing on providing exceptional patient care

• Hospital support from one daytime PA for pre- and post-operative needs five-days/week, NP four-days/week 2:00P-12:00A, including first call for hospital- and office-based call

Department of Urology Overview:

Integrated Healthcare: Merrimack Urology Associates is a well-established practicelocatedin Chelmsford, Massachusetts. After50-yearsof independent practice, Merrimack Urology Associates merged with Lowell General Hospital in 2021, which is part of Tuts Medicine Health System with over 700 affiliated doctors and a clinical affiliation with Tufts Medical Center.

Academics: As part of Tufts Medicine, Lowell General Hospital offers the opportunity to have an academic appointment within Tufts University School of Medicine, with a wide variety of teaching activities available.A new Urology Residency will be starting in 2027 combined with the Tufts Urology Department in Boston where urology residents will be rotating through our clinics andhospitals.

Our Practice: Merrimack Urology Associates practicesnearly allaspects of Urology, including;oncology, endoscopic stone procedures, laparoscopy and robotics, MRI guided prostate biopsies, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, BPH, female urology, and basic pediatric urology.

Collaboration: Our team currently consists offourfull-time physicians,twofull-time Nurse Practitioners in the officeandaPhysician Assistantand Nurse practitioner in the hospital. Our practice serves a large community with adiversepatient population.

Responsibilities:

You will serve as a member of a large and diverse team in outpatient and operative settings, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to providecutting-edgeand patient-focused care.

• Community Setting. Provide specialty and subspecialty careto theGreater Lowell area and its surrounding cities and towns,known for their vibrancy, access to cultural,historicaland outdoor attractions and close access to Boston.

• Patient Focus. Our integrated network allows for increased access to care for our patients, with collaborations that extend beyond our four walls, including our association with an excellent Cancer Center running trials in partnership with Dana Farber and other Boston-area Hospitals

• Teamwork. Multidisciplinary support with Interventional Radiology, Nephrology,Oncologyand others. Our office includes three nurses, 1:1 support with a medicalassistantand individual administrative support for our physicians.

• State of the art. We perform office-based cystoscopies, TRUS Bx’s, vasectomies and offer in-house ultrasounds performed by certified sonographers. Our only OR islocatedatTufts Medicine -Lowell General Hospital’s Main Campus, offeringa state-of-the-artEndourology Suite,2DaVinci Xi Robots with dual consoles, and dedicated Urology staff with easy access to MRI guided prostate biopsies and ESWLs.

Work shift

Full-time(four- or five-day work week), with shared call coverage among the group.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $350,000.00 to $400,000.00annually,withthe potential foradditionalbonus opportunities. Actual compensation will bedeterminedduring theselection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
