Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 50% - 100% Medical Assistant II to work in the Urology Clinic on University Campus. Under direct supervision of licensed practitioners, you will support patient care, manage records, assist with examinations and treatments, and handle related clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant.
• Completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant program.
• Health care program with MA elements including pharmacology and dosage calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in clinic with patient examinations and related treatments.
• Manage internal and external medical records for appointments.
• Administer routine medications not requiring high nursing judgment.
• Perform routine lab tests and basic procedures as needed.
• Schedule appointments, answer phones, and coordinate with departments.
• Assist with insurance prior authorizations and patient flow.
