Job summary

Nexplore is seeking part-time STEAM instructors to deliver high-quality, in-person after-school STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and/or Fitness sessions at designated Key West locations. Instructors work from prepared lesson plans and materials, teaching students in varying grade levels with support from a Program Success Manager.

The role requires a minimum AA degree and 2+ years of teaching or instructing experience; a teaching certificate is a plus.

Qualifications

• AA Degree (or higher) required or preferred.
• 2+ years teaching/instructing experience preferred.
• Experience working with children in educational settings.
• Teaching degree or certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, in-person STEAM instruction to students (PreK-12 as assigned).
• Follow prepared lesson plans and maintain materials with training provided.
• Maintain on-time attendance and professional communication with site staff and Program Success Manager.
• Deliver engaging instruction from a library of 80+ programs, with accommodations as needed.
• Engage families and support student access and participation in Nexplore programs.

Nexplore Instructor Role

The Nexplore Instructor is responsible for consistently delivering high-quality, in-person STEM, Digital Tech, Art, Life Skills and/or Fitness instruction to foster the joy of learning. Supplied with training, lesson plans, curriculum, and materials, the Nexplore Instructor is responsible for preparing for instruction and teaching students in grades PreK-12 (varies based on assignment). They will report to a Program Success Manager.

Responsibilities

• Consistency - Follow a provided schedule, arrive on time and prepared to teach (must review lesson plans and materials prior to instruction), and maintain compliance with site expectations.
• Competence - Deliver meaningful, standard-aligned instruction that cultivates critical thinking, problem solving, and joy in the learning process. Manage all supplied instructional materials.
• Communication - Engage in professional, responsive, effective communication with Nexplore Program Success Manager and site personnel.
• Creativity - Deliver inspiring instruction from Nexplore’s collection of 80+ programs, administering accommodations and extensions, as relevant.
• Community - Participate in family engagement efforts (welcome letters, showcases, etc.) and empower each and every child to meaningfully access and engage in Nexplore programs.
