Job summary

24 Seven Talent seeks an experienced Outerwear/Jacket Designer for an urgent freelance assignment in New York. The 2–3 month engagement involves developing seasonally relevant outerwear concepts, balancing trend direction, quality, fit, and customer appeal.

You will create sketches, technical flats, colorways, mood boards, and presentations, research trends, fabrics, trims, and provide clear direction for production handoff. A strong portfolio of outerwear work is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing women’s outerwear and jackets.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrication, trims, fit, and product development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; Photoshop and PLM experience are preferred.
• Excellent sketching, technical flat, color, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, take creative direction, and adapt quickly.
• Portfolio demonstrating outerwear or jacket design work is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop women’s outerwear and jacket concepts from inspiration to production handoff.
• Create design sketches, technical flats, colorways, mood boards, and presentations.
• Research seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, washes, embellishments, and competitors.
• Translate concepts into construction details, fit, finishes, and materials.
• Collaborate with merchandising, technical design, sourcing, and production partners.
• Review samples, identify revisions, and communicate updates for quality and design intent.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight timelines.
