Job summary

Veterinary Urgent Care Center Worcester is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced urgent care team in Worcester, MA. This role supports doctors and technicians, triages patients, and helps with diagnostics, anesthesia, and client communication.

You will work in a hospital designed for rapid diagnostics and emergency-style medicine, offering opportunities to expand skills in lab, imaging, and radiology while maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Calm and efficient under a fast-paced environment.
• Confident handling of pets of all sizes and temperaments.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Fundamental veterinary skills in lab, pharmacy, nursing and radiology are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with triage of urgent care patients
• Obtain patient histories and assist with treatments
• Assist with IV catheter placement and laboratory sample collection
• Assist with diagnostics and imaging
• Assist with anesthesia monitoring and minor surgical procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Provide compassionate patient care and restraint
• Communicate professionally with clients regarding treatment plans and home care
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient hospital
• Collaborate closely with doctors and technicians to provide high-quality patient care
