Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA accredited institution.
• Appropriate state licensure.
• DEA/BNDD eligibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; with assistance for heavier loads.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine disease or injuries.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect samples, and interpret results.
• Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
• Provide counsel around pet end-of-life care.
• Maintain patients’ medical records.
• Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and applicable statutes and procedures.
