Animal Care Centers of NYC is seeking a Community Veterinarian to join our Emma and Georgina Bloomberg Veterinary Center. This urgent-care focused hospital operates within a large open-admission shelter in NYC, offering affordable care through partnerships and a mission to End Animal Homelessness.

Qualifications

• Licensure in NYS to practice veterinary medicine.
• DEA eligible.
• Internship or 3 years of previous clinical experience in Urgent Care with a demonstrated competency in advanced soft tissue surgery.
• Strong surgical and diagnostic skills.
• Can confidently work alone.
• Fear Free certification desired or must be completed in the first 30 days of employment.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Successfully mitigate a variety of medical and surgical cases with varying levels of acuity.
• Develop trusting relationships with clients which includes clear and compassionate communications.
• Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and prudent use of resources to maximize the number of animals serve.
• Delegate responsibilities to our competent para-professional staff.
• Learn, teach, mentor.
• Work with Medical Director, LCSW and Practice Manager on case selection.
