Job summary

Western Veterinary Partners seeks a skilled Veterinary Technician for First State Urgent Vet in Wilmington. You will triage walk-ins, perform life-saving treatments, and educate clients while working in a fast-paced urgent-care setting.

The role involves venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and in-house diagnostics with IDEXX equipment. A 4x10 FT schedule with rotating weekends is required, and base pay ranges $19–$28 per hour in USD.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary technician or assistant experience.
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in DE preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in patient assessment, triage, nursing care, and in-patient monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Triaging walk-in patients and assessing emergent cases.
• Taking patient histories and educating clients clearly and compassionately.
• Venipuncture and IV catheter placement; administer treatments.
• Run in-house diagnostics and monitor anesthesia/sedation.
• Maintain accurate medical records and discharge instructions.
• Build client relationships through education and attentive service.
