Job summary

UCHealth is seeking an onsite Radiology/Urgent Care team member in Fort Collins. The role supports urgent care operations, performs radiologic procedures, and assists with patient flow and safety under physician supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and IV proficiency within 6 months; CMA, RMA, EMT, or LPN credentials also qualify. This is a full-time, dayshift, on-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure/Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider. IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months. One of CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course; Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Minimum Experience: None required.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS card must be current through sixty days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates flow of patients in the department to optimize throughput and keeps patients informed of delays.
• Observes patients and notifies the provider/ RN if distress is suspected; prepares patients for visit.
• Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and venipuncture for blood draws or IV access.
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms, cleans equipment, and ensures supplies are stocked.
• Works in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and exercises sound judgment.

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

FloatPoolthat supports UCHealth Urgent Care across the North region including- Longmont, Firestone, Orchards, Eagle, Peakview, Elk Lakes, Johnstown, Harmony, & Prospect.

Summary:

Provides emergent/urgent patient care under the direction of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner and/or registered nurse.

Participates as an active member of the urgent care team, performing radiologic procedures and collaborating with providers, Urgent Care Technicians, and other clinical staff to support efficient clinic operations and a positive patient experience. Ensures patient safety and high-quality imaging while supporting patient flow, room turnover, equipment readiness, and supply management throughout the shift. Assists with operational and clinical needs to help maintain timely patient care and throughput. Provides support during emergent situations, including obtaining equipment and supplies, activating EMS, and assisting the care team as needed. May perform additional clinical duties within scope following appropriate training and demonstrated competency.

Observes patients and notifies the provider and/or RN immediately if patient appears in distress. Prepares patients to see the provider; assists prior to, during, and following examination.

Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and performs venipuncture for the purpose of drawing blood or inserting a saline lock.

Maintains exam and treatment rooms and other areas. Cleans equipment following established guidelines. Ensures that established standard supply levels are maintained; orders supplies as directed.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. IV proficiency per department guidelines within 6 months and is tracked at the department level. One of the following credentials: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (no renewal required); Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

  Minimum Experience: None required.

• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross with card in-hand before start date. BLS card must be good through sixty days of hire. All renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
