Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking an Urgent Care Technician to support both Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. The position involves clerical and clinical duties to ensure smooth operations and high-quality patient care within the Care Now service line.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, and assisting nursing staff and providers to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Medical terminology a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient acuity in waiting areas, escorts patients to exam rooms.
• Completes intake by gathering medical history and obtaining vital signs.
• Prepares the patient and room by setting up necessary instruments and equipment for the visit.
• Schedules patients for advanced care with specialty providers, workers’ compensation follow ups, and other clinical services as needed.
• Performs point-of-care testing per protocol, and ensures proper cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of equipment and exam rooms.
• Maintains competency in specimen collection; performs Reasonable Suspicion Drug and Alcohol Testing per chain-of-custody protocols.
• Assists nursing staff and Providers to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.
