UrgentVet Hospitals in Naperville, IL is seeking a Senior Veterinary Assistant to support patient care, client service, and team leadership in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The role entails animal handling, restraint, phlebotomy, and routine lab work with the IDEXX in-house equipment.

Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. Join a paperless clinic designed for efficiency, equipped with cloud EMR, digital X-ray, and comprehensive on-site lab work.

Qualifications

• Experience handling animals and restraining them during exams and procedures.
• Basic phlebotomy and sample collection skills.
• Ability to monitor patients and assist with routine lab analyses.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding patient care in a fast-paced urgent care setting.
• Support team leadership and supervise junior staff as needed.
• Deliver high-quality client service and education.
• Assist with clinical duties including measurements, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Participate in facility maintenance and day-to-day clinic operations.

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care, offering after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our hospitals offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Ideal Candidate

• Demonstrates professionalism, dependability, healthy and positive communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a hands-on environment
• Energetic people-and-pet person with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Full-time employees may be required to travel for on-site training and onboarding
• Prior customer service experience
• Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
