U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Urgent Care Registered Nurse for the Newington VA Healthcare System in Connecticut. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) in an urgent care setting, with day shifts and some flexibility within clinic hours.

Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive nursing care, coordinating patient education and care plans, and supervising licensed and unlicensed nursing staff. Requires relevant nursing degrees and adherence to VA policies.

Qualifications

• ADN/BSN/MSN degrees must be accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
• Education verification requirements for federal employment.
• Foreign education requires equivalency documentation if used to qualify.

Responsabilités

• Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care and continues developing technical nursing skills.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
• Coordinates care focusing on patient education, self-management and satisfaction.
• Administers medications and procedures per established policies.
• Delegates and supervises basic nursing care of LPNs and UAPs.
• Provides urgent care for acute and chronic medical, surgical and psychiatric conditions.
• Uses five-level triage to prioritize patients who require immediate care.
