Covenant Health is hiring a Medical Assistant/Radiology Tech for the Urgent Care Maryville South location. The role provides professional nursing care, conducts routine diagnostic radiology procedures, and supports the care team in a fast-paced clinic setting.

Qualified candidates will hold ARRT and Tennessee X-ray operator licensure, CPR, and CCMA or equivalent MA certification. This full-time position requires dedication to patient comfort and accurate, timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Requires ARRT certification and current licensure to perform radiographic procedures.
• Must be licensed in Tennessee as an X-ray operator in an MD office.
• CPR certification required.
• CCMA or equivalent MA certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification.
• Prepares written documentation such as evaluation results, treatment plans, progress reports and other reports.
• Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance and contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
• Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms.
• Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment; records history and performs basic triage per policy.
• Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner.
• Maintains patient privacy and comfort.
• Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care activities.
• Monitors accuracy of patient medical records; maintains reports, records and statistics.
• Ensures adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
• Inspects area for compliance with policies and standards; takes corrective action when needed.
• Schedules outside patient appointments per physician order and relays information to patients.
• Takes calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relays information to practitioners.
• Ensures test results are received and relayed to patients timely.
• Completes medical orientation checklist and collaborates with care team as part of a team-based approach.
• Follows policies, safety standards, and completes required education; supports quality improvement initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
