Job summary

The Urgent Care is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team with flexibility to travel between our Greater New Orleans locations.

Ideal candidates are experienced providers dedicated to high-quality, patient-centered urgent care in a fast-paced, walk-in clinic setting.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Louisiana licensure as a PA or NP.
  • Certification by NCCPA (PA) or ANCC/AANP (NP – FNP preferred).
  • Minimum two years of urgent care, emergency, family or primary care experience (three years preferred).
  • Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS.
  • DOT Certification a plus.
  • Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency in minor procedures and testing interpretation.
  • Excellent communication, clinical reasoning and patient engagement skills.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, exams, diagnoses and treatment.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (x-rays, EKGs, labs).
  • Perform urgent care procedures (laceration repair, I&D, splinting, wound care).
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans.
  • Document encounters and maintain EMR accuracy and timeliness.
  • Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic teams for continuity of care.
  • Rotate between multiple clinic locations as assigned.

Position Summary

The Urgent Care is currently seeking a qualified and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our clinical team. This position requires flexibility and a willingness to travel between our clinic locations across the Greater New Orleans area.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and motivated provider with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, walk-in clinic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, physical exams, evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies
  • Perform common urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound care
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and develop treatment plans consistent with current medical guidelines
  • Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain timely electronic medical records
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Rotate between multiple clinic locations as assigned
Qualifications

  • Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain)
  • Proficiency in minor procedures and interpreting diagnostic test results
  • Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skills
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus
  • Ability and willingness to commute to all The Urgent Care clinic locations as needed
Preferred Competencies
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and standard billing/coding practices
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and digital documentation workflows
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative clinical environment
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
