Job summary

The Urgent Care, LLC is actively seeking a qualified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our clinical team in the Greater New Orleans area. This role requires flexibility to travel between clinic locations and deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced walk-in setting.

Ideal candidates are experienced providers with strong diagnostic and procedural skills, licensed in Louisiana, and certified by NCCPA/ANCC/AANP as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Louisiana licensure as a PA or NP.
  • Certifications by NCCPA (for PAs), or ANCC/AANP (for NPs – FNP required).
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, family medicine, or primary care (three years preferred).
  • Current BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Current DOT Certification (FMCSA Medical Examiner Certification) is a plus.
  • Active DEA registration and state prescriptive authority (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficiency in minor procedures and interpreting diagnostic test results.
  • Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skills.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to commute to all The Urgent Care clinic locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays, EKGs, and laboratory studies.
  • Perform common urgent care procedures such as laceration repair, incision and drainage, splinting, and wound care.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and develop treatment plans consistent with current medical guidelines.
  • Accurately document all patient encounters and maintain timely electronic medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and clinic teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Rotate between multiple clinic locations as assigned.
