Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold license to practice medicine in Iowa.
• Must have medical staff privileges at Mercy Medical Center.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional medical services to MercyCare Community Physicians patients.
• Obtains and records comprehensive medical histories, physical exams, and diagnoses.
• Performs and documents clinically appropriate procedures and test orders.
• Prescribes medications and treatments with timely documentation.
• Refer patients to specialists when indicated and document referrals.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records in compliance with policies and payer requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing medical education activities.
