Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $203,652.80 - $225,118.40 / year

Summary

The Urgent Care Physician provides medical care or advice to a patient when a primary care physician is not available. They do not require an appointment, and they typically offer treatment or medicine in an outpatient clinic. The Urgent Care Physician reports directly to the Associate Medical Director.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes excellence in healthcare for services including minor injury care, illness care, and on-site X-Ray services for the local community.
  • Must be comfortable being a solo provider with Physician Director access by phone.
  • Provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
  • Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population in the area of assigned responsibility.
  • Responds to emergencies and to changes in condition of assigned patients.
  • Collaborates with Physician Director and other caregivers of multidisciplinary team. Assumes joint responsibility with the medical staff to ensure that orders and plan of care, as they relate to the patient care, are appropriately carried out.
  • Collaborates to establish criteria and guidelines for auditing practice in area of specialty.
  • Compliance with state and federal rules and regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Willing to see patients of all ages.
  • Performs procedures that include but not limited to - I&D's, laceration repairs, toenail removals, etc.
  • Fluent in EHR workflows.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the team.
  • Ability to work with diverse personalities.
Job Requirements
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine, Occupational Health or Emergency Medicine.
  • Unrestricted DEA license.
  • Basic Life Support Provider certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Job Preferences
  • 2+ years of experience working independently as a Physician.
  • Certification specializing in Advanced Cardio Life Support.
  • Urgent Care experience preferred.
