Job summary

Included Health seeks a board-certified physician to deliver high-quality care across ages in a fast-paced urgent/primary care setting. You will document findings, coordinate with teams, and maintain comprehensive patient records.

The role requires 3+ years post-residency in urgent or primary care, ABMS/AOA board certification, and an active license in an IMLC state. You’ll work with flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends, reporting to the Medical Director of Urgent Care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 3-year Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine residency.
• 3+ years post-residency experience in fast-paced Urgent Care or Primary Care outpatient settings.
• Active ABMS or AOA Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine + Pediatrics.
• USMLE completion and eligibility for IMLCC.
• Active and unrestricted state medical license; residency in an IMLC state.
• Experience caring for all ages and functioning in an integrated medical practice.
• Not excluded from Medicare/Medicaid programs; Medicare active status required.

Responsibilities

• Perform age-appropriate history and virtual exams; diagnose, plan treatment, and document findings.
• Deliver high quality patient care while maintaining safety and accuracy of records.
• Review patient history and document medical information at each visit.
• Request consultations or referrals when appropriate.
• Counsel and educate patients; order and interpret tests as needed.
• Manage pediatric and adult patients for acute care; assist chronic disease and mental health care.
• Stay current with medical research; provide clinical support and lab result reviews as needed.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility including evenings and weekends.

Job description

We're looking for a board-certified physician with broad clinical expertise and a passion for improving healthcare access and quality. You'll provide care to patients of all ages across a wide range of conditions, maintain accurate and current patient records, and work collaboratively with our provider and support teams. You should have at least 3 years of post-residency experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings. This role will report to the Medical Director of Urgent Care.

Responsibilities

• Perform age-appropriate history and virtual examinations, evaluate, diagnose, recommend treatment plan and document findings appropriately and timely
• Deliver high quality patient care while maintaining safety
• Document medical information of patients and review patient history at each visit
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers when appropriate
• Counsel and educate patients
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Evaluate, triage and manage pediatric and adult patients for acute care, and have experience with chronic disease management and mental health conditions
• Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends
• Provide administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory test results
• Scheduling flexibility to include evenings and weekends

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a 3-year Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine residency
• 3+ years post residency experience in a fast paced Urgent Care or Primary Care outpatient setting
• Active ABMS or AOA Board Certification in Family Medicine or dual boarded Internal Medicine + Pediatrics
• Completion of U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
• Eligible for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLCC) is required
• Active and unrestricted state medical license in at least one state; residing in an IMLC state is required
• Experience and comfort providing care for all ages, newborn to adult populations
• Ability to function within an integrated medical practice
• Extensive breadth of clinical expertise
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrable proficiency with technology
• Not under current exclusion or sanction by any state or federal health care program, including Medicare or Medicaid, and is not identified as an "excluded person" by the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services or the General Service Administration (GSA), or reprimanded or sanctioned by Medicare
• Must maintain Medicare active status

Preferred Qualifications

• Multistate licensure
• Telemedicine or virtual care experience with video based visits
• Experience with Athena EMR
• Experience and interest in supervising Nurse practitioners

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

• Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
• Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
• Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
• No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.
• Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.

Shift Obligations

• 1,664 annual hours (32 hours per week)
• Weekday evening shifts: A minimum of 8 hours per week, between 5-11p PST
• AND
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend, Saturday AND Sunday, 8 hours/day, (7a-11p)
• Day/Evening rotation every other weekend
• Holiday shifts: 3 per calendar year

Modified Full-Time: 32hrs/wk min - $180,000/yr on average with guaranteed base + equity + benefits. Additionally, Included Health offers productivity incentives for employees who exceed the visit target. Details of the incentive structure will be discussed during the interview process.
