Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care Monroe is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support both front-end and clinical operations. You will collect patient histories, take vital signs, and assist with exams and testing while maintaining HIPAA and accurate EMR documentation.

Responsibilities include patient registration, triage calls, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked clinic. A high school diploma is required; EMT Basic or CMA/RMA is preferred, and ongoing training is provided.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Ability to identify equipment problems and notifying team leader.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• CPR certification or ability to obtain CPR.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples if certified.
• Complete documentation for lab tests in the EMR.
• Perform point-of-care testing (strep, flu, glucose, UA, etc.).
• Register patients and coordinate records for ancillary care.
• Assist providers with exams and testing and patient flow.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and equipment is functioning.
