GoHealth Urgent Care in Hartford, CT seeks experienced Advanced Practitioners to join our urgent care team. Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners will provide broad clinical services for adults and children, functioning with or alongside a physician to deliver high-quality care.

Sign-on bonus up to $13,500 for external candidates, with market-leading compensation and extensive benefits including CME support, tuition assistance, wellness programs, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• Experience in urgent care or emergency medicine settings.
• Clear ability to treat adult and pediatric patients.
• Current national certification and active state licensure required.
• Bachelor’s (PA) or Master’s (NP) degree depending on role.

Responsabilités

• Examine and treat patients with urgent care needs.
• Take medical histories and document progress notes.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Carry out therapies such as suturing or casting when needed.
• Educate and counsel patients and coordinate care.
• Work 8 or 12 hour shifts as assigned.

Job Summary

Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts,sprainsand minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skillsin order torecognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree_requiredfor Physician Assistants_


• Master’s Degreerequiredfor Nurse Practitioners

Work Experience

• One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experiencerequired. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• National Certification


• Active state medical licensure

Additional Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities

• Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred


• Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.


• Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-raysrequired.


• Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care settingrequired.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records


• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
  
• Strong communicationand customer service skills

Essential Functions

• Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting


• Recording progress notes for follow-up patients


• Educating and counseling patients
  
• Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients


• Giving vaccinations, and referring patients toadditionalcare


• Each provider will workan anticipatedeight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift which will be assigned by an authorized representative ofGoHealthUrgent Care


• All other duties as assigned
