Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Zanesville, OH seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner for First Care/urgent care across three locations. The NP provides comprehensive evaluation, procedures, and care coordination with physicians and staff.

The role requires NP certification, Ohio prescriber license, five years of clinical experience, ACLS, CPR, and strong communication to educate patients and families. On-site, varied shifts supporting community health needs.

Qualifications

BSN or Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and current Ohio RN License.
Certification as Nurse Practitioner.
Minimum five (5) years clinical experience.
Valid prescriber certificate in accordance with Ohio law.
Adult Certification or Family Practice Certification.
Current CPR certification.
ACLS certification.
Excellent oral and written communication; ability to assess, guide and evaluate patients.

Responsibilities

Works with the collaborating physician and department administration to meet patient and organizational needs.
Performs physical exams and clinical evaluations; documents findings.
Performs procedures within NP scope for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
Orders and reviews labs and diagnostics; Notifies attending physician of issues.
Coordinates transitions to primary care or other providers for chronic conditions.
Maintains balance between outcome, cost, and process.
Educates patients and families on wellness, prevention, and early intervention.
Acts as clinician, consultant, and educator to achieve clinical outcomes.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of assessment, pathophysiology and pharmacology.
Adheres to patient-centered care and safety expectations.
