Job summary

Prisma Health Urgent Care in Columbia, SC seeks a patient-focused Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality care in a busy urgent care setting. The role supports adults and children, collaborates with center physicians, and emphasizes service excellence.

The ideal candidate holds an NP or PA advanced degree, SC licensure, DEA registration, and DOT certification, with urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible and licensed to practice medicine in SC.
• Advanced degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Licensed NP/PA in accordance with South Carolina.
• Current DEA registration.
• DOT certification.
• Experience with suturing and abscess drainage.
• Experience reading X-rays and EKGs.
• BLS certification provided if needed.
• Urgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred.
• Strong communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, evaluate, and implement high quality medical care with resource management for adults and children with center physicians.
• Deliver the service and courtesy standard by ensuring patient satisfaction at all times.
• Provide care within bylaws, policies, and center procedures.
• Serve as a resource for patient, family and staff.
• Document accurately and maintain complete records for reimbursement.
• Participate in meetings to support urgent care operations.
• Maintain certifications (BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or NALS) and additional trainings as required.
• Report to the Regional Medical Director and Area Clinical Operations Director.
