Job summary

University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City invites applications for a part-time moonlighter Urgent Care Provider to cover Urgent Care shifts across campuses. The role supports patient care with flexible weekend/holiday coverage, including on-call and holiday commitments.

Qualified candidates hold Utah medical license, DEA, and at least 5 years in Urgent Care or ER. Moonlighters must work minimum 2 shifts monthly, 1 on-call per quarter, and 1 holiday per year.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Utah.
• Must have and maintain U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency number without any suspension, diminution or revocation.
• Must meet all the qualifications to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs or any similar government-funded health care program.
• Must maintain a practice of medicine consistent with recognized standards of medical care and perform all activities in accordance with those standards.
• Must meet all qualifications to participate in programs maintained by the University of Utah for professional malpractice liability coverage.
• 5+ years of experience in Urgent Care or ER setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for a broad range of illnesses and injuries with adherence to policies and professional standards.
• Respond to rapid response and care for children, adults, and pregnant patients.
• Perform routine urgent care procedures including suturing, fracture management, pelvic exams, abscess I&D, nail removal, Wood’s lamp.
• Providers to work a minimum of 2-3 shifts per month (including weekend shifts).
• Providers to work 1 on-call shift per quarter.
• Providers to work 1 holiday per year.
