Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Monroeville, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our urgent care teams with compassion and efficiency. You will register patients, verify insurance, and perform entry-level clinical tasks to assist providers during exams.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and MA certifications (CCMA/CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA) or nursing/EMT/paramedic backgrounds, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting.
• CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, or NRCMA certifications.
• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN/LVN, or EMT/Paramedic status.
• CPOE certification within 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation.
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays.
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history.
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records.
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals.
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks.
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.
• All other duties as assigned.
