Job summary

Firelands Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/LPN for the FPG Urgent Care in Sandusky. The role supports patient care, vitals, phlebotomy, EKG and stress testing, while aiding billing and scheduling in a fast-paced setting.

The position requires high school diploma and Medical Assistant certification; CPR is required, with strong PC and communication skills to coordinate care with providers and patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Experience in a medical office or urgent care setting is preferred.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Must perform as a Medical Scribe occasionally.
• Proficient with PCs; typing skills are desirable.
• Strong communication with patients, staff and insurance providers.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care in clinic/urgent care.
• Monitor patient flow and document vitals and current medications.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKG and stress testing as required.
• Schedule procedures and tests; maintain accurate records for billing.
• Greet patients and manage communications, intake forms and insurance information.
• Assist with billing processes and notifying patients of account status.
