About the Opportunity

A well-established small animal hospital in the Round Rock area is seeking a veterinarian interested in a hybrid urgent care and general practice role. This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor who enjoys variety in their day—including urgent cases, wellness visits, sick appointments, and surgery—while maintaining a predictable schedule and strong work-life balance.

The position combines scheduled appointments with walk-in urgent care cases, creating a dynamic and engaging environment while ensuring patients receive timely, high-quality care.

The Role

This role focuses on urgent care, wellness visits, and sick appointments, with opportunities to perform surgery when appropriate. The hospital provides care for non-life-threatening urgent cases and works closely with local primary veterinarians to ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities
  • Managing walk-in urgent care cases throughout the day
  • Supporting wellness visits and overflow appointments from other doctors as needed
  • Performing urgent surgeries when appropriate (e.g., wound repairs, mass removals, stable pyometra cases, GI foreign bodies)
  • Performing routine soft tissue surgeries
  • Collaborating closely with other veterinarians and a skilled technical team
  • Practicing high-quality medicine with appropriate diagnostics and treatment plans
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree
  • Eligible for or currently holding a Texas veterinary license in good standing prior to start date
  • DEA license or eligibility to obtain one
