Job summary

WVU Medicine in Martinsburg, WV seeks an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Professional (NP or PA) to join Berkeley Medical Center's Urgent Care team. The APP provides comprehensive emergency medicine care, coordinates with specialty teams, and supports patient evaluation and discharge planning.

This role requires certification and licensure in WV, BLS/ACLS/ATLS, and a master’s-level credential for APNs or an ARC-PA-approved PA program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN and APRN in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and ATLS certification required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree as Medical/Surgical PA and ARC-PA program completion.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive care for emergency medicine patients and coordinates hospitalization if necessary.
• Performs pre-procedure evaluations and integrated assessments.
• Orders tests or consults following clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
• Documents plan of care and communicates results in medical records.
• Provides education to nursing staff, hospital staff, residents and students.
