Job summary

University of Michigan's Taubman College seeks a practice-track Professor of Urban Technology to develop field-defining practice and teaching for the Master of Urban Technology program launching Fall 2027 in Detroit. The candidate will join the URP program, contribute to teaching and service, and maintain ongoing professional practice.

Qualifications

• Educational and/or professional background in a related technical or design discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching and mentoring experience at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Proven track record in creative practice related to urban technology.
• Entrepreneurial experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach two courses per year in Detroit for the MUT program; additional teaching in Ann Arbor possible.
• Engage in service to the program, college, and university.
• Maintain ongoing engagement with professional work aligned with practice-track expectations.
