University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Institute for Urban Education (IUE) seeks adjunct faculty for undergraduate and graduate courses. This part‑time, non‑benefit appointment supports the IUE and ESWPS mission to prepare teachers and educational leaders for urban communities in Kansas City and beyond.

Appointments are semester‑by‑semester with potential renewal. Qualified candidates will hold an appropriate degree, have experience in diverse settings, and be familiar with online teaching

Qualifications

• Degree appropriate significant experience/training relevant to the level of class and content area being taught.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to different backgrounds and culturally‑responsive teaching.
• Familiarity with various online delivery platforms.
• Experience teaching in P12 schools and/or institutes of higher education (as applicable to the area of interest for adjunct teaching).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Institute for Urban Education (IUE) as assigned by the Division Chairperson.
• Prepare and deliver courses with engaging, culturally responsive pedagogy.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and professional development as needed.
