Job summary

The City of Saint Charles is seeking a Field Maintenance Worker – Beautification to perform skilled construction, hardscaping and landscaping on public spaces within the right-of-way and to support snow and ice removal operations.

You will inspect equipment, plant and maintain landscaping, apply herbicides on rights-of-way, repair hardscape features, mow and clear debris, and participate in on-call rotations for civil emergencies and severe weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of drainage/irrigation maintenance and repair.
• Pesticide license preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid Missouri Class A CDL with air brakes/tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain equipment, vehicles, tools, and supplies.
• Plant, care for, and remove plants and landscaping within the right-of-way.
• Apply herbicides and insecticides as needed.
• Repair and construct hardscape elements like pavers and benches.
• Mow, trim, and remove debris in the right-of-way.
• Operate equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Respond to snow/ice control operations as required.
• Assist in storm water and drainage maintenance.
