Job summary

FUJIFILM Biotechnologies in Holly Springs, NC, is seeking an Upstream Supervisor to lead a team of manufacturing associates during the startup of a large-scale cell culture facility.

You will oversee commissioning and qualification activities, develop training plans for GMP batches, and drive a culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement as the facility moves into ongoing production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 8 years in large pharma/biotech roles.
• BA/BS in Life Sciences with 4+ years in pharma/biotech ops.
• AS in Life Sciences with 6+ years in pharma/biotech ops.
• Military experience or equivalent.
• Experience manufacturing biological products with GMP/GLP familiarity.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning and qualification activities.
• Lead and support team in readiness tasks: document review, onboarding, and materials management.
• Build and execute training plan for GMP batches.
• Mentor and develop team members.
• Administer policies affecting employees (travel, time reporting, time off).
• Coordinate cross-functional start-up activities.
• Lead shift team of up to 7-10 manufacturing associates on the floor.
• Coordinate the execution of the manufacturing schedule and daily huddles.
• Foster an inclusive, people-first culture; conduct 1:1s for development.
• Maintain a cgmp compliant environment with up-to-date training and safety mindset.
• Support manufacturing investigations and continuous improvement projects.
• Coordinate with maintenance, calibration, and equipment usage.
• Enforce time reporting and shift policy compliance.
