Job summary

KBI Biopharma seeks an Upstream Cell Culture Process Development Associate to lead and assist in mammalian cell culture and harvest projects, focusing on process development, scale-up, and tech transfer to cGMP manufacturing.

Responsibilities include setting up culture and bioreactor processes, data analysis, GDP documentation, and team collaboration. Weekend work may be required with premium pay, and experience with DOE/JMP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s with relevant experience in chemical engineering, biotechnology, or related field.
• Working knowledge of mammalian cell culture.
• Advanced ability with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent customer service and ability to meet deadlines.
• Flexible hours to support weekend/holiday processes with premium pay.

Responsibilities

• Assist setup, operation, and analysis of cell culture and bioreactor processes.
• Lead in maintaining and monitoring development experiments; compute growth rates and scale parameters.
• Data entry, plotting, and supporting writing of technical reports.
• Maintain GDP-compliant batch sheets and data binders.
• Assist in data analysis using DOE or JMP and help write technical documents.
• Maintain project plans including materials and equipment for lab and pilot runs.
• Participate on process development teams and guide junior staff.
• Interact with clients to present data and respond to inquiries when needed.
