Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Waldwick, NJ is seeking friendly, professional, and compassionate Waitstaff to deliver an upscale dining experience for residents. You will ensure meals are served per the Director of Food Service guidelines and contribute to a high-quality daily living experience for seniors.

Responsibilities include taking orders, maintaining table settings, assisting in plating, and bussing tables.

Qualifications

Experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a restaurant or food-service-related industry.
Able to function in a fast-paced environment.
Have a strong ability to multi-task.
Possesses good communication, customer service and people skills.
Is professional, patient and able to satisfy a demanding customer base.
Experience working with a senior population is preferred, but not required.
Is a team player, willing to help out where needed to ensure a pleasurable dining experience.
Familiarity with food safety, food preparation and board of health guidelines is a plus.
Is able to adjust to different personality types and situations in positive ways.

Responsibilities

Patiently and cheerfully taking resident meal orders.
Checking station tables for settings and cleanliness.
Reading the menu before service so you can knowledgeably assist residents with selections.
Assisting in plating and proper portion control of appetizers, salads, soups, beverages and desserts.
Bussing tables at the end of the meal.
