Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required in science or a related field.
  • Advanced degree(s) preferred with focus on science education.
  • Minimum 10 years of science teaching experience or relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to teach multiple courses and adapt to department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 3–4 Upper School science courses, including physics and AP Physics C.
  • Plan, prepare, and implement labs and assessments.
  • Collaborate with science colleagues to prepare syllabi and materials.
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and progress reports timely.
  • Plan and revise curricula and instructional methods.
  • Advise students and participate in after-school activities as needed.
  • Engage in DEI initiatives and support an inclusive learning environment.

Poly is seeking a teacher who is excited about teaching science, particularly physics and AP Physics C, and possibly other courses depending on the school’s needs and the candidate’s experience.
