Job summary

BASIS Ed Texas in the Dallas area seeks an Upper Elementary History Teacher to join our bright, passionate team. The role ensures day-to-day exceptional education by preparing and facilitating subject-specific lesson plans and delivering BASIS Curriculum.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in subject matter (or 24+ credit hours with another degree), IVP fingerprint clearance, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred: Master’s degree and 2+ years teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in subject matter or 24+ credit hours with other degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Master’s degree in subject matter or education (preferred).
• 2+ years teaching/education experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and facilitate subject and grade specific lesson plans.
• Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment.
• Implement the BASIS Curriculum by designing effective lessons and assessments.
• Collaborate with BASIS Curriculum teachers to develop curriculum/materials.
• Tutor students in content-specific knowledge and skills.
• Manage student behavior to foster academic achievement and respect.
• Support non-instructional functions such as Early Bird, Late Bird, and lunch.
• Maintain regular, full, predictable attendance.
• Supervise individual students and groups.
