Job summary

RH is seeking an Upholstery Associate at our Dmitriy & Co manufacturing location in Los Angeles, CA. You will contribute to crafting high-quality upholstery pieces and uphold RH’s standards of craftsmanship.

In this role, you will apply upholstery techniques, use hand tools and power tools, and collaborate with a skilled team to meet production schedules while ensuring safety and attention to detail across all projects.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of upholstery experience in a production, workshop, or design environment.
  • Proficiency in upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, webbing, padding, and finishing.
  • Strong time management and communication skills, with a collaborative and service-oriented approach.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality.

  • Accurately review and follow purchase orders, providing timely progress updates to ensuring workflow efficiency
  • Apply upholstery techniques and production standards with precision, ensuring each piece reflects our commitment to exceptional quality
  • Expertly utilize hand tools and equipment, including staple guns, webbing stretchers, hammers, scissors, and select power tools, to assemble and finish upholstery pieces with precision
  • Safely handle wood frames and materials, utilizing assistance when appropriate to maintain both safety and craftsmanship integrity
  • Contribute to hand-sewing, specialty projects, and other tasks as needed, supporting innovation and excellence within the upholstery team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • - Frequently lift and mobilize furniture and accessories in excess of 75 pounds while utilizing appropriate equipment and adhering to safety guidelines
  • - Stand, sit, and walk for prolonged periods
  • - Bend, twist, stretch, reach, stoop, climb, squat, kneel, push and pull frequently
  • - Maneuver effectively around the workroom floor, and loading docks
  • - Grasp, move, and assemble materials and products with hands
  • - Distinguish and evaluate differences in color, shade, and brightness
