Job summary

Christian Brothers Automotive in Clive, IA is hiring a General Service Technician to join our team. This full-time role offers an apprentice program and a path to ASE certifications, with hands-on training and modern facility equipment.

You will perform oil changes, alignments, tire services and other automotive tasks, assess vehicles, and explain repairs to guests. We provide up to $25 per hour for top technicians, paid vacation and holidays, health insurance, a retirement plan, and tools

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and desire to serve customers.
• Aptitude for learning additional skills.
• Prefer experience with all makes and models.
• Current ASE Certifications preferred or plan to achieve.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, alignments, mount and balance tires, and other automotive services.
• Honestly assess vehicles and recommend necessary repairs.
• Communicate cause and correction for customer concerns.
• Maintain shop in clean, working order.
• Complete thorough courtesy inspections and use diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Perform oil changes, alignments, mount and balance tires, fluid exchanges, and various automotive services.

Honestly assess vehicles and recommend necessary repairs.

Communicate cause and correction for customer concerns regarding their vehicle.

Address any concerns from customers and interface with them on their vehicle as needed.

Maintain professionalism.

Keep shop in clean, working order.

Must have a positive attitude, and drive to lean.

Complete full, accurate, and honest courtesy inspections in service to our customers

Master MFG level diagnostic tools (MFG scantools and subscriptions provided by CBA)

Requirements

Current ASE Certifications preferred, or a plan to achieve while working in our business.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any applicant in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Automotive Technician must:

Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.

Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head.

Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair.

Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools

Walk/stand for the majority of the workday.

Drive manual transmission vehicles.

Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment.

Efficiently navigate a computer.
