Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is seeking a CT Technologist to perform all CT exams and support patient safety. The role includes reviewing orders, coordinating with radiologists, and maintaining high-quality imaging with the lowest reasonable dose.

We expect at least two years of CT experience or eligible for RT(R) (ARRT) training, MA license within one year, and a current BLS certification. The position offers a 40-hour workweek with day shift and rotating weekends and holidays.

## Unregistered C-T TechnologistApplylocations: Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouthtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR99433**When you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.**40hpw; Day shift; Rotating weekends and holidays**Job Description:****Duties/Responsibilities:*** Performs all functions of the CT Technologist.* Rotation through daily workflow, which includes organizing the day, patients, orders, labs and making sure the schedule for the next day, is completed.* Reviews patient order, questionnaire form and labs if required on all patients prior to scanning.* Competent in venipuncture.* Competent in Point of Care Testing.* Responsible for performing all CT exams including drainages and biopsies.* Properly identifies the patients prior to scanning.* Prepares patients for exams ordered and insures patient safety at all times.* Follows departmental protocols for each exam to obtain a high quality exam with the lowest possible dose.* Works with manager to implement changes made to workflow or other department changes needed.* Scans patients according to protocols to provide high quality exams.* Assists radiologist during procedures as required.* Reviews exams after scanning prior to sending to PACS for image quality and completeness.* Documentation of contrast allergies and extravasations.* Reviews exams with Radiologist as necessary, contributing technical and professional knowledge.* Responds appropriately to medical emergencies and displays ability to function effectively and appropriately in stressful situations.* Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, patient’s families, staff, physicians and medical office personnel.* Demonstrates knowledge of what constitutes appropriate clinical history for each CT exam.* Follows all departmental and hospital policies and procedures as required.* Practices ALARA, is aware of patient CT Dose. Image wisely/Image Gently required.* Checks patient tracker before imagining for cancellations.* Stocks and cleans rooms.* Maintains Joint Commission readiness in the department. BLS certification* Registration as CT Technologist and MA License within 1 year of hire**Physical/Environmental Requirements**This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, and standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch.
