Job summary

Peraton is hiring a Unmanned Underwater Vessels Lead Associate to work onsite in San Diego, CA. The role includes supporting data collection and analysis for mine countermeasure objectives, and conducting R&D on new UUV sensors.

You will operate UUVs from shore-based assets and support Navy units afloat and at forward operating bases. The position requires 3+ years operating MK18 FoS UUVs, 3+ years T&E experience with unmanned systems, and an active DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• 5 years with BS/BA or nine years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 3+ years of experience operating MK18 FoS UUVs.
• 3+ years of experience conducting Test & Evaluation of unmanned systems, including data collection and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support weekly on-water UUV/USV/ROV missions to accomplish objectives for government or project leads.
• Conduct operational troubleshooting and maintenance on the MK18 UUV Family of Systems and related platforms.
• Periodic travel to 5th/6th/7th Fleet AORs for international exercises and customer support; travel, lodging, and compensation provided by company.
• Periodic CONUS travel to support UUV Testing & Evaluation at various bases or shipboard operations at sea.
• Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Complete prerequisites for forklift operator's license (25k and below) and Cat 3 crane certification.

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Unmanned Underwater Vessels, Lead Associate to work onsite in San Diego, CA.

Assigned mission tasking will support data collection and analysis for mine countermeasure's objectives in various harbor areas, littorals, and shipping lanes. Data analysis on R&D work on new UUV sensors. UUV operations will be conducted from small boats deployed from shore, embarked on various Navy Units Afloat and from Forward Operating Bases. Support of SPAWAR and US Navy Forces for OCONUS Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Response for MCM operations tasking, including ongoing UUV experimentation of emerging technologies related to UUV mission.

What you will do:

• Supporting weekly on-water UUV/USV/ROV missions to accomplish objectives assigned by the government or project leads.
• Conducting operational-level troubleshooting and maintenance on the MK18 UUV Family of Systems (FoS) and other platforms.
• Periodic travel to 5th Fleet AOR (Bahrain and surrounding areas), 6th Fleet AOR (Spain and surrounding areas), or 7th Fleet AOR (Guam and surrounding areas) for international exercises and/or customer support. Travel, lodging, and compensation provided by company.
• Periodic travel CONUS to support UUV Testing and Evaluation (T&E) at various military bases, government facilities, vendor facilities, or to conduct shipboard operations out at sea.
• Demonstrating experience and proficiency with MS Office products, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Completing all prerequisites for, and successfully maintaining a 25k and below forklift operator's license and Cat 3 crane certification.
• Applying for and maintaining a Corporate Credit Card.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• 5 years with BS/BA or nine years of experience in lieu of degree
• 3+ years of experience operating MK18 Family of Systems (FoS) UUVs.
• 3+ years of experience conducting Test and Evaluation (T&E) of Unmanned systems, including gathering, recording, analyzing, and reporting performance data.
• Previously held a position of Technology Transition Operator (TTO) or Fleet Support Representative (FSR).
• Completion of a 6-month CONUS or OCONUS deployment in support of MCM Operations.
• Active/Current DoD SECRET clearance.
• Meeting the MIL-STD for weight carrying limits and satisfying the requirements to handle man-portable UUV's and equipment.
• Valid US driver's license.
• Valid US passport

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
