Job summary

Assumption University is seeking a Police Officer to enforce state and university laws, maintain campus safety, and respond to emergencies. You will patrol buildings and grounds, investigate incidents, make arrests when needed, and document activities with precise reports.

Required are a high school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred), successful completion of a police academy, POST certification, and physical/psychological clearances.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed the Massachusetts SSPO Academy OR a Municipal Police Academy approved by MPTC.
• Must meet and maintain POST certification standards.
• Must pass physical and psychological examinations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds to prevent theft, trespass, vandalism, or violations.
• Investigate and report violations of law or university regulations.
• Makes arrests and handles related duties including court testimony and serving warrants.
• Respond to emergencies; provide First Aid/CPR as needed.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and maintain records.
