The YMCA Buffalo Niagara operates Universal Pre-K (UPK) within the Lew-Port School District. The UPK Aide facilitates the curriculum and supports the UPK teacher to deliver engaging preschool activities.

Schedule is Monday–Friday during the school year, 8:00 am–2:00 pm, 30–35 hours per week with potential additional hours. Benefits include retirement contributions, health insurance after 60 days, paid time off, and YMCA family membership.

Responsabilidades

• Implements the curriculum and follows program standards established by the YMCA, the NYS Education Department, and the School District.
• Assists and supports the UPK teacher with administrative tasks.
• Projects a positive image and develops relationships with students, parents, staff and administration.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of program/work areas and ensures PPE compliance.
• Enforces safety rules and reports or treats injuries.
• Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
• Cares out other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA operates Universal Pre-K (UPK) within the Lew-Port School District.The UPK Aide facilitates the curriculum and lesson plans for Universal Pre-K Program (UPK).

GENERAL WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday during the school year, 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.
30 - 35 hours per week.
Additional hours may be required.

BENEFITS:

Health insurance is available on the first of the month following 60 days of employment with the Y.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Meets the requirements outlined in the contract with the School District and/or the local Board of Education.
2. Prior experience working with preschool age children is preferred.
3. Able to build positive relationships and communicated effectively with parents, children, school administration and co-workers.
4. Must be dependable and conscientious.
