Job description

Think of this Unity Developer job as a standing invitation to make Slack's Kafka infrastructure faster, simpler, and less scary. What sets the offer apart is trust — $97,000 - $132,000 and internship hours are nice, but the technology ownership is the headline.

Key Responsibilities

• Tune database queries and schemas for high-throughput Slack workloads

• Ensure code quality through automated linting, testing, and static analysis
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and technology roadmap discussions
• Refine and maintain microservices that support Slack customers in Franklin, TN
• Track and report on key performance metrics for technology services
• Own the oddball-friendly Next.js subsystem that the rest of Slack quietly depends on
• Pair with cross-functional partners to scope and deliver internship projects

What You'll Bring

• Customer-focused outlook with strong interpersonal skills
• A writer's ear for tone in a high-stakes email
• The communication discipline to over-share early and trim later
• At least 3 years of standing behind your own estimates
• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and Attention Management
• Familiarity with Slack-scale workflows, or the appetite to reach them
• Proven follow-through, measured in shipped things rather than good intentions
