Barnes Aerospace Ogden division is seeking a Unit Team Lead for the day shift to lead and support the Machining Department, coordinating workflow, assisting scheduling, and proactively addressing issues to sustain production, safety, and quality.

The role acts as the primary contact for troubleshooting and process improvements, promoting collaboration and accountability across all levels of the department.

Hours are 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Thursday (Every other Friday off).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in aerospace or high precision manufacturing
  • Technical expertise/experience in aerospace manufacturing-machining disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be a self-starter who can exercise sound judgment and take initiative

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritize work area to maintain production efficiency.
  • Assist with scheduling and monitor tasks to ensure timely workflow.
  • Provide supervisor coverage and attend meetings; supervise staff in supervisor absence.
  • Serve as point of contact for troubleshooting and employee concerns.
  • Train employees on work processes; promote safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Working team lead in the department.

Job description

Barnes Aerospace Ogden division has an exciting opportunity for a Unit Team Lead. The Unit Team Lead for day shift provides day-to-day leadership and hands-on support to ensure production goals, safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved for our Machining Department. This working lead role is responsible for coordinating workflow, assisting with scheduling, and anticipating potential issues to maintain efficient operations. The Unit Team Lead serves as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting, and process improvements while promoting safety, collaboration, and accountability within the department.

Hours: 6:00am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday (Every other Friday off)

Core Responsibilities
  • Plan, anticipate issues and identify and manage priorities for the work area, with an understanding of the overall goals of the area and the company. Assist with scheduling and monitoring work tasks to maintain and improve production efficiency of each job and operation to ensure timely workflow.
  • Maintain a high degree of accountability and commitment for area of responsibility.
  • Provide supervisor coverage and support when needed, including attending meetings for supervision/business unit and supervising staff in supervisor absence.
  • Handle day to day operations and act as point of contact for troubleshooting and employee concerns. Identify and report any machine maintenance repairs and address minor interpersonal conflicts. Escalate and report issues to management as needed.
  • Train employees on work processes, coach or mentor others as needed. Promote and support safety compliance. Proactively address potential safety concerns and report any unsafe issues to management.
  • Collaborate and work effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • This position is considered a working team lead

Education Requirements
